Ecumenical Catholic Church in India (ECCI) was formed by priests and lay people from different Christian traditions and Rites who shared a desire for reform, renewal, and active ecumenical dialogue within the Christian community.
With a vision of fostering greater unity among Christians while respecting legitimate diversity in tradition, worship, spirituality, and discipline, Ecumenical Catholic Church in India (ECCI) was established in Kerala, India, and registered under Registration No. 27/IV/2015 in 2015.
Ecumenical Catholic Church in India (ECCI) understands itself as an independent Catholic Church in India and as a community seeking to live the reality of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church, with Jesus Christ as its foundation.
ECCI celebrates the Holy Liturgy according to the Novus Ordo, various Catholic traditions, and, where requested and appropriately provided for, the Latin Mass.

A MESSAGE FOR CHRISTIAN UNITY
†† Mar Illios Yohanan Kuriakose, Archbishop and Apostolic Nuncio of Asia of Ecumenical Catholic Church of Christ, Detroit, USA expressed the Church's ecumenical commitment in these words:
“We believe in God who is Love, Peace, Justice, and Mercy, who created all people equal. Now is a time for Christian unity. If we cannot agree on every point, let us not mire ourselves in minutiae. Instead, let us be unified in Christ, united in faith, and work together to solve the world's problems and to protect the faith globally. In the meantime, we should pray to end the scandal of division which troubles Christianity and pray for unity and peace for all Christians.”

OUR PRAYER FOR UNITY
May all Christians grow together in faith, hope, and love. May the Holy Spirit guide the Church toward reconciliation and unity. May our differences never prevent us from recognizing our common calling to follow Jesus Christ. May we learn to pray together, serve together, and work together for the good of God's people. And may the prayer of Christ become increasingly visible in our world: "That they all may be one". Amen.
